- The selected candidate will be reporting directly to the CFO
- Assist the Financial Controller with managing the team
- 2 to 4 years Post Qualification experience is preferred
Main Responsibilities of the Role: Review and be involved in the preparation of the various monthly management accounts including:
ensuring that the Revenue and Deferred Income are accurate, preparation of the relevant accounts’
Schedules and journals, and analysing any variances with budgets.
Preparation of various regulatory reporting as necessary including returns for MFSA, FCA, CFR and
HMRC
Assisting with our yearly audits and half yearly reports
Review of the various bank reconciliations and payments prepared by other staff members and involved
in the day-to-day banking requirements
Assist the Financial Controller with managing the team and the possibility that one or more of the junior
staff will be reporting to the selected candidate
Ensure our daily processes and any internal controls are followed through, supporting more junior staff
and make suggestions where required
Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required
Experience and skills required : Experience with a Big 4 Audit firm or mid-tier audit or accounting firm is desirable
2 to 4 years Post Qualification experience is preferred, but people with at least 4 years’
experience in an Audit / Accounting environment and in final stages of completing ACCA or an
equivalent qualification / degree will be considered
Hands on and can-do attitude, ability to deliver tasks to completion and strong attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills and an excellent team player
