Our client a multi-licensed, multi-asset fintech group with a number of physical offices worldwide and a fantastic innovative and tech savvy team, is looking to onboard a Head of PMO, to be based in their office in Bucharest.

Operating for almost 10 years they are experiencing vast growth, gaining ground in international markets and growing their teams locally and internationally. The group is managing to progress and successfully gain more ground in a very competitive and tough industry. The innovative people centric leadership is letting people grow and values strategic approach as well as hard work. At the moment they are looking for a key professional who is responsible, organised and understands the challenge of undertaking such a vital role as the Head of PMO.

Duties and responsibilities:
 
 
PMO Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop and implement the PMO strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Lead the PMO team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Establish PMO governance frameworks and methodologies to ensure project consistency and quality.
 
Project Management
  • Oversee the portfolio of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Implement and manage project management tools and techniques to ensure effective project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Facilitate project prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.
 
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities and communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors.
  • Ensure effective communication and reporting mechanisms are in place to keep stakeholders informed of project progress and issues.
 
Continuous Improvement
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO and across the organization. 
  • Identify and implement best practices, process improvements, and lessons learned to enhance the effectiveness of project delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate PMO performance metrics and KPIs, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
 
Change Management
  • Lead change management initiatives to support project implementations and organizational transformation.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance project management capabilities across the organization.
  • Ensure alignment between project outcomes and business goals through effective change management strategies.
 
Skills and experience needed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a fintech environment.
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects and leading a PMO in a fast-paced fintech environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Lean, and other project management methodologies is an advantage.
