Our client operates in the Affiliate Marketing and Online Gaming industry. Established in 2021, they initially focused on the North American Affiliate Market, building a diverse portfolio of digital assets and traffic sources. By 2024, they expanded into the operator side of the industry, acquiring stakes in Gaming operators and supporting their growth.

In 2025, they will launch their first wholly owned UK gaming operator, marking a significant milestone in their journey. With a dynamic and innovative team, they are poised to drive further growth and expansion in this competitive sector.

Job Overview:

The Head of Compliance and MLRO will oversee our client's compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and fostering a compliance-driven culture across the organisation.

This role entails monitoring, assessing, and addressing compliance matters, as well as providing strategic compliance input to business operations. You’ll conduct internal audits to ensure policies, procedures, and systems are aligned with UKGC licensing requirements and business objectives.

With full autonomy, you’ll develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures related to compliance, fraud, and customer interactions, ensuring the business remains compliant and industry-leading. You will also stay updated on regulatory changes and translate these into actionable internal policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements set by relevant authorities;
  • Stay informed of legislation, regulations, and compliance updates, advising on their impact and developing action plans as needed;
  • Conduct internal audits and deliver training sessions to staff;
  • Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management on risk trends, fraud incidents, and the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies;
  • Assist in submitting timely, high-quality regulatory returns and other reports;
  • Manage license applications and renewals;
  • Monitor player gaming activities and lead investigations into suspected fraudulent activities;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external investigations;
  • Ensure all marketing and promotional communications comply with regulatory standards across online, social, and email channels;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the regulatory landscape.
What do you have to offer?
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar role within the UK sportsbook/igaming market;
  • The ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions;
  • Expertise in KYC processes, customer due diligence, and enhanced due diligence checks;
  • A thorough understanding of AML frameworks, including analysing source-of-funds materials;
  • Solid knowledge of Gambling Commission requirements under LCCP, including social responsibility, customer interactions, and AML compliance;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across departments and with customers;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • A professional, sensitive, and resilient approach to customer interactions.
