  • The Accountant will develop expertise in the IFRS closing process.
  • Will also support general banking and treasury operations.
   
The successful candidate will be occupying a role that provides an excellent opportunity for development within the fields of treasury, IFRS close and reporting, and insurance in a first-class international organization. Internal and external training will be supported and provided where required.
The position is in Malta.

YOUR JOB
• Support quarterly closing activities and financial reporting to headquarters and external local institutions for IFRS and Solvency II
• Maintenance of purchase ledger, processing of invoices
• Carry out cost, general ledger and other accounting duties on various SAP based systems
• Technical insurance accounting
• Contribute to various compliance related tasks within the Finance department (e.g., updating internal controls, policies, guidelines).
• Support the development of presentation information to help management understand performance results.
• Contribute to process improvement projects as part of the ongoing finance transformation efforts.
• Other general accounting duties in investments, insurance, treasury operations, and other topics as assigned.
YOUR PROFILE
• University Degree in accounting or an equivalent qualification; ACCA, preferable.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting capabilities particularly related to investments and insurance. Intermediate knowledge of IFRS, relevant to insurance companies (e.g., IFRS 9).
• Work experience of 2 years or more in the Maltese financial industry, preferably in the insurance  accounting and reporting area.
• Quick to grasp concepts and inter-relationships between different components.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills and diligence.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate cross-functionally, and work well within a team.
• Assertiveness in a group-wide environment with cross-functional interfaces and stakeholders.
• Fluent business English and ability to communicate with people at all levels.
• Confident personality and positive attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
